- Blake Shelton addressed the rumors that he and Gwen Stefani are divorcing.
- The country star essentially called the rumors ridiculous and said it has heightened his distrust of the internet.
- The divorce rumors stemmed from Blake and Gwen not having a major public appearance together since March.
2025 was a tough one for celebrity relationships, and Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani's marriage wasn't safe from scrutiny in the press. The couple faced divorce rumors after fans noticed they haven't had a single major appearance together since March last year, but reassured everyone that they're still together with a Thanksgiving kissing selfie (as one does!). But neither addressed the rumors in the press—that is, until now.
Blake went on the record in a January 10 interview with County Countdown USA, and essentially called the entire speculation surrounding their relationship ridiculous.
“Starting in October, I think, or maybe November, I started noticing these articles popping up about ‘Blake and Gwen, they’re split up,’” he recalled. “‘They’re not even seeing each other anymore, they’re going through a divorce.’ And then, you know, a week later a picture comes out of us walking out of the grocery store: ‘Oh, they’re back together again!’ And another week goes by and we’re not seen at the grocery store: ‘They’re divorcing!’”
Blake added, “I see pictures of Gwen and I on social media that I really go, ‘that looks so real,’ but I know I don’t even own that shirt or, ‘Whose car is that?’ I don’t believe anything anymore that I see on the internet. I mean, nothing. I just don’t believe it.”
While the country singer's statement doesn't act as a true denial, Blake isn't giving credence to the manufactured drama. His feelings track—a source told People in December that he and Gwen have been busy with work, and that a split is nowhere in their cards.
“There is no truth to the split rumors. They’ve just been juggling demanding schedules,” the source explained. “When they are together, it’s just so obvious how solid they are.”
“Sometimes they spend a lot of family time together and really treasure that, and then there are periods when the focus is more on work,” the source added. “They're both at a place in their careers where they still genuinely enjoy what they do and they don't want to give that up. Is it easy all the time? Of course not. They have a lot on their plates and a lot to balance, but that's just how it is when you're a family and both parents have careers.”
